Abstract

Letters have always remained significant in the study and analysis of biographical data and works of renowned literary figures. Up till now, only about one hundred and fifty of Saadat Hasan Manto’s letters have been discovered and published, but it is believed that there were more. Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi published those letters of Manto which had been addressed to him, but in spite of his efforts could not manage to retrieve letters from other friends and acquaintances of Manto, letters which Qasmi had hoped to publish in another volume. This article sheds light upon the earlier publications of Manto’s letters and also presents some un-compiled letters of the author.
