Abstract

A systematic study of the process of translation began in the 1950s in light of modern linguistic and cultural theories, methods and tools. Since then, several new developments have taken place. However, not much attention has been paid to the modern translation trends in Pakistan and the little work that has been produced predominantly revolves around the age-old concepts of literal and free translation. This article presents a comprehensive summary of major research trends, theories and associated concepts in translation studies.
