The quest to finding the ‘telos’ of existence—the ultimate truths behind one’s life— has been one that seems to have begun with the ideas of Plato. With Platonism taking root, countless theoreticians have attempted to address the same concern in different ways. To study the way the human mind functions, for instance, has been one of the most primary areas of interest. It is in this quest that thinkers such as Freud and Carl Jung had emerged, shedding light on ideas such as Analytical Psychology (Jung) and paving way for further advancements to be made. In this particular article, the complex ideas of Jung and Freud have been explored vis-à-vis theories of the South-Asian poet and philosopher, Iqbal.
