Abstract
Presenting a survey of the parodies of AIlama Iqbal's poetry, Imran Zafar examines parody (tahrif) tradition in Urdu verse and analyses it. His article discusses parodies of some of the famous poems of Iqbal such as "Hamdardi," "Parinde ki faryad," "Shikwah" and "Juwab-e Shikwah," carried out by Akbar ilah Abadi, Shaukat Thanvi and Sayyid Zamir Ja`fari among others.
