About Bunyād

Bunyād is an annual, double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Gurmani Centre for Languages and Literature at LUMS. The journal is dedicated to advancing research in Urdu language and literature by publishing original, high-quality scholarship in the fields of literary studies, linguistics, literary criticism, literary history, archival research, translation studies, and related interdisciplinary areas.

The journal provides a platform for researchers, academics, and emerging scholars from Pakistan and around the world to contribute innovative and rigorously researched work that enhances understanding of Urdu's literary, linguistic, and cultural traditions. Through the publication of research articles, critical studies, and archival investigations, Bunyād seeks to promote scholarly dialogue, foster intellectual exchange, and support the development of knowledge in the humanities.

All published content is freely available online, ensuring broad access to research and encouraging the dissemination of scholarship to a global readership.

Bunyād is recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The journal was placed in the HEC's 'Z' category in August 2014 and was subsequently upgraded to the 'Y' category in February 2015.

The views and opinions expressed in articles published in Bunyād are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Gurmani Centre for Languages and Literature or LUMS.

بنیاد عالمی شناخت کا حامل ایک سالانہ تحقیقی مجلہ ہے۔ اس کے مقالات اشاعت سے قبل ملکی و غیر ملکی ماہرین  کو مصنفین کی شناخت ظاہر کیے بغیر بھجوائے جاتے ہیں اور ان کی آراکی روشنی میں انھیں شائع یا مسترد کیا جاتا ہے۔ اسے لمز یونیورسٹی کا گرمانی مرکزِ زبان و ادب شائع کرتا ہے۔ یہ مجلہ اردو ادب، لسانیات، تنقید، ادب کی تاریخ، دستاویزی تحقیق اور ترجمہ کاری میں کی جانے والی نئی تحقیق کو فروغ دینے میں سرگرم ہے۔ یہ عالمی سطح کے مصنفین کو اہم موضوعات پر اپنی تحقیق کی اشاعت کے لیے ایک پلیٹ فارم مہیا کرتا ہے۔نئے لکھنے والوں کی معیاری تحریروں کی اشاعت بھی ترجیحاً کی جاتی ہے۔

بنیاد کے تمام شمارے آن لائن دستیاب ہیں۔ اسے ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن، پاکستان نے اگست ۲۰۱۴ء میں زیڈ کیٹگری میں شامل کیا۔ فروری ۲۰۱۵ء میں اسےوائی کیٹگری میں شامل کیا گیا۔

بنیاد میں شائع ہونے والے تمام مضامین مصنفین کی ذاتی آراء ہیں۔ ادارے کا ان سے متفق ہونا ضروری نہیں۔
