Abstract
Rashed’s views on religion and existence of a just God propelled some degree of controversy in his lifetime and were further sparked by his cremation after his death. Zia-ul-Hasan analyzes this aspect of the poet’s belief through his poetry and tries to objectively understand and reveal his ideas about religion as they shaped and influenced his life. In conclusion, he has tried to diffuse the criticim hurled at the poet on his account.
