Abstract

The Islamic civilization in South Asia was greatly influenced by Persian, Arabic and to some extent, the Turkish language. Turkish was established as the mother tongue of the Mughal rulers of India. Although never adopted as the official language of the court, interest in Turkish scholarship survived and a large number of Turkish manuscripts remain available in the libraries of the region to this day. This article provides a list of manuscripts in the Turkish language that can be found in different libraries in Pakistan. The content of these texts ranges from texts of Literature, to Sufism, to Turkish course material.
