Abstract

During its short history of about 140 years, the Punjabi novel has evolved in many ways. Countless Punjabi novels as well as novelists have emerged, owing to the popularity gained by this genre.  At first, it was composed in its simplest form, but as readership grew, it evolved in diction, formation, structure, thought, language as well as dialogue. This article immerses itself in a discussion of how the evolution has come about and what changes have been made to the kinds of Punjabi novels emerging.
