This article introduces and reproduces, with necessary annotations, a rare piece of writing by Maulvi Abdul Haq. Abdul Haq’s article titled “Mustafa Kamil Pasha” was first published in the Deccan Review in 1908. It reflects his ideas about Pan-Islamism and also highlights the intellectual, religious and political inclinations of the intelligentsia in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.
